We've been in the bay for six months in a couple of weeks. In that time, other than through work, I've met a handful of people and haven't really made any close connections in the Bay Area.

This bums me out from time to time. I basically go to work, do stuff at home with R or out on weekends, and occasionally go to classes and such. We're doing events and such but it is basically the two of us.

The few people that we do know with similar interests do not, by and large, live in the East Bay.

I was thinking about this today because my friend, Nathan, is going to work in Germany for three months. He left this morning. He was a friend of mine in Seattle and moved down here recently and one of the few people I did things with fairly often.

On a plus note, we're having a LAN party at work tomorrow so I'm bringing my Xbox 360 and copy of Gears of War over. That ought to be fun.
